Do you care deeply about the atmosphere your customers experience? Whether you run a bar, hotel, café, restaurant, salon, bookstore, or medical practice — do you believe that small details can shape how people feel in your space?

With our piano playlists we help to shape venues that feel warm, open, and welcoming. They are created to support meaningful customer relationships by adding an elegant musical presence that never overwhelms, but gently enhances the moment.

Our instrumental piano music is recorded on an outstanding instrument, capturing the pure, authentic sound of live performance. Each piece carries the subtle nuances, dynamics, and expression that only a human touch can create — bringing a genuine live music feeling into your venue.

At its heart, World Piano Bar is about more than background music. It is about creating a peaceful, inspired atmosphere that reminds us of our shared humanity and the importance of a more connected, open-minded global community — something that feels more important than ever.

In 2020, pianist Claudio Lanz and producer Christian Lanz launched a project dedicated to capturing the true essence of live piano performance. During the pandemic, Claudio finally found the time to record the extensive repertoire he had carried in his memory for years — music he had performed in bars, restaurants, hotels, and aboard cruise ships around the world.

To preserve the authenticity and spontaneity of the performances, every piece is recorded live in a single take, without cuts or editing. Aiming to create feelings of peace, relaxation, relief, and connection for the widest possible audience, WORLD PIANO BAR draws inspiration from a wide range of genres and musical eras, including jazz, Latin, pop, film music, classical piano, and video game music.

At the heart of the project is a remarkable instrument: a special Grotrian upright piano formerly owned by Rolf Bosse, the longtime chief voicer of the Grotrian-Steinweg piano company in Braunschweig. Bosse spent nearly half a century at the factory, shaping the final tonal character of countless Grotrian pianos.

After years of recording piano music at Produkton Studios, Claudio and Christian eventually discovered their ideal setup for capturing the unique sound of this instrument. A rare combination of Neumann MV 630 omnidirectional microphones and vintage Russian ribbon microphones allows the piano to be recorded with exceptional warmth, depth, and intimacy. The result is a subtle yet richly detailed sound that has become the unmistakable signature — and the very heart — of WORLD PIANO BAR.
